Thomas Molloy, commonly known as Mr. Molloy, is one of the recurring characters in Sex Education. He is portrayed by Dan Levy.

Season 4[]
Mr. Molloy is a literature teacher at a prestigous Wallace University in Madison, USA, where Maeve studies during her course. He is also a prized and leading author, who gained recognition thanks to his best-seller book Blood on a Rainbow Maze. As he stated during one of the classes, he personally dislikes the book and prefers his previous one, Night Tales.
Molloy chooses Ellen to be his intern and later falls out with Maeve after having different points of view about Maeve's first chapter of Southchester and tells her not to get her hopes up about becoming a writer, as in his opinion, she's not cut out to be one.
After Maeve comes back America after the funeral of her mother and gets a calll from a publisher interested in her Southchester piece, Molloy wants to see her straightaway and apologizes to her for what he said before; thanks to Maeve's words, he also decides to change his approach to the students.
Personality[]
Molloy is straighforward and says everything that comes to his mind. He can also be quite mean, what he showed while criticizing Maeve and discouraging her from becoming a writer. On the other hand, after a publishing house showed interest in the excerpt of Maeve's book, he understood his mistake and was able to admit it and apologize.
