The Nyman family consists of four members; Jakob, his two daughters; Ola and an older unnamed one, plus Jakob's late wife, who passed away from cancer some time prior to season 1. For Jakob, passing of his beloved wife broke him so much that he couldn't pull himself together for a very long time. Thanks to the help of his daughters, he was finally back on feet, coming back to reality, and later being able to fall in love again.
The family has lived in Nyman house in Moordale until the fall of 2021, when Jakob's older daughter went off to university and Jakob and Ola moved out to Milburn house, so Jakob could be closer to Jean, who was pregnant with him.
Sadly, some time later Jakob and Ola moved out of the Milburn house, as it turned out Jakob was not the biological father of Joy.
