Mrs. Matthews is one of the minor characters in Sex Education. She is portrayed by Imman Zaffrani.

She is Roland Matthews' wife and Ruby Matthews' mother. She works in a hospital, probably as a nurse. She really cares about her family and home, especially about her sick husband Roland, with her daughter Ruby.
Season 4[]
Mrs. Matthews appears in a flashback when she and her husband are dropping Ruby off to a camp.

Roland Matthews (husband)[]
As Roland said in episode 3.3, he used to talk about her all the time when he was Ruby's age. Mrs. Matthews really loves him, what she shows everyday, by helping him out with daily activities he's not able to do anymore due to his illness.
Ruby Matthews (daughter)[]
She is so proud of her daughter, Ruby, who helps her with all the homework and sick Roland; for example Ruby cooks dinner for her father when Mrs. Matthews is at work.
