Jackson Marchetti & Vivienne Odusanya are best friends on the Netflix series Sex Education.

History[]

Season 2[]

The two met in episode 2.2, when the principal of Moordale Secondary, Michael Groff asks Viv to be Jackson's tutor to help him with Maths and English until he's back in the pool. Their first session takes place in same episode, during the fun fair. Then, Jackson's friends make laugh at him, asking if he's dating Pythagoras (Viv's nickname).

Later, Viv is also the one who encourages Jackson to find other hobbies besides swimming. Thanks to that, Jackson applies for the role of Romeo in the school musical, which he gets. After getting the role, he asks Viv to help him with understanding the lines he's supposed to learn. She agrees, but on one condition; Jackson will help her to make Dex Thompson (Viv's crush) her boyfriend.

In episode 2.6, when Jackson can finally be back in the pool, he wants to keep hurting himself; he doesn't want to go back to swimming. During Otis' party, they have their first fight, during which Jackson says that Viv doesn't have any friends because she's a fucking robot, which hurts her so much.

In episode 2.7, Jackson is still angry at Viv after she told his parents that he doesn't want to swim anymore. They meet in a school corridor, where Jackson ends their friendship.

In episode 2.8, after the National Student Quiz Championships, Dex and his friends make laugh at Jackson being the Romeo, when Viv passes by them critisizing them for making fun of Jackson, who's trying something new; something that he's maybe not good at. Later in the episode, Viv comes to the musical; when Jackson comes out on stage, he forgets his lines. Luckily, Viv helps him out, reminding him his lines. After the show, both of them are coming back home, becoming friends once again, sharing a hug.

Season 3[]

At the begining of the third season, they're still good friends, spending so much time together.

Everything changes when the new headmistress, Hope Haddon starts to make changes at Moordale Secondary. Hope decides that Jackson will no longer be the headboy, and gives this role to Viv, which makes Jackson angry at Viv; he thinks that Viv wants to suck up to Hope.

With season on-going, Jackson develops his friendship with Cal Bowman, which may have made Vivienne a bit jealous, as it can be seen in the end of episode 3.4, when depressed Viv looks at Jackson and Cal having fun, or episode 3.5, where in France Jackson hangs out with Cal only.

In episode 3.6, Viv starts to understand that Hope's changes aren't good; she, Jackson and Cal decide to organize 'The Thing', which will show that Moordale Secondary is proud of being the Sex School.

The whole event happens in episode 3.7, when Sparkside Academy (the new name of Moordale Secondary) is about to have its open day. Everything goes according to the plan and students take pride in being Sex School.
